How to avoid the Number One Mistake in Advertising on Social Media - Part 1

  •  What should Small Business Advertise on Social Media ?

  • Would you like to have the Best ROI for Advertising on Social Media ?
  • What is the Number One Mistake made in Advertising on Social Networks ?
The number one Mistake in Advertising on Social Media is

          Advertising your Website !

          Why ?

When you are on a Social Network you are generally

in the middle of a conversation ,

or looking up a friend ,

or looking for a Page ,

          or making new contacts ,

or reading a Celebrities inane drivel ,

You do not want to leave the network to visit a Website .

Your Website will get some hits with Social Advertising ,

but you would have a much higher Success Rate

          if your Advertising directed people

to a Promotion within the Network .

Advertise your Page or Group site first ,

once people are on your Business Page

they can then be redirected to your Website for a Special Deal ,

But , the Deal must be immediately available on your Page .

The Traffic that will then go to your Website

are only those who want to exit the Social Network ,

so your Advertising must capture Sales through your Page firstly.

          We recently Interviewed Hypo ,

the Big Business Social Media ' expert ' .

Alpha ; So Hypo , tell us why you recommend

Business to Advertise their Websites on Social Media ,

and not their Business Pages or Groups ?

Hypo ; Well that is obvious isn't it ?

we want to drive traffic to the Website

           not to their Page ,

it's all about the number of hits on your Website .

Alpha ; Ok , have you thought about

whether the Customer will want to leave

their Social Network to visit a Website ?

           Hypo ; No I haven't ,

           but it doesn't matter anyway

because we want them out of the Social Network

           and onto the Website .

Alpha ; Isn't that what you want ,

and not what the Customer wants to do ?

           Hypo ; Look , I don't care what the Customers wants ,

the deal is this , we are driving traffic to websites .

Why would I want them to go to my Client's  Businesses Page ?

What's in it for me ?

Alpha ; Well , you would get a lot

more Traffic to the Business Page ,

because people would not have to leave their Social Network ,

and therefore a lot more conversions to Sales .

Once they're on the Business Page there should be

an accessible Business Deal or Offer immediately ,

and they can Bookmark the Website to access later .

Would that make more sense Hypo ?

          Hypo ; I've told you already I don't care ,

we are going to keep driving traffic to Websites ,

because that's what I'm paid to do .

          In summary

Don't Advertise your Website on Social Media ,

Advertise your Social Network Page ,

but have your Website displayed on your Page

with an immediate Special Offer ,

and use Marketing and Advertising concurrently for Best Results .
